Step 1: Download
You can download the Guild Wars E3 2004 Demo (62 KB) at any of the following sites:
Step 2: Install
The download file (GWdemo.zip) is compressed using a ZIP compression. In order to access the installation file you will need to uncompress the ZIP file using uncompression software. If you don't already have software which can uncompress a ZIP file than I suggest downloading WinZip (free download)
Unzip (Uncompress) the contents of GWdemo.zip file (GWSetup.exe) in to the directory of your choice. Please note that this process does not install Guild Wars, it merely locates your installation files. Run GWSetup.exe to begin installing Guild Wars:

What you have downloaded thus far is the installation file;
however, in order to run the Guild Wars E3 2004 Demo you
will need to download the data required to participate in the
"E3 For Everyone" event. In order to begin the download process,
a connection must be made to ArenaNet.
If you are using a Firewall than make sure you allow
GwSetup.exe to communicate with unknown.level3.net

Once connected to ArenaNet, you can specify an installation
directory for your Guild Wars E3 2004 Demo. Click "OK"
when you have selected your installation directory.

The GwSetup application will now begin downloading the
Guild Wars E3 2004 Demo client to the installation directory
that you specified. Once completed, Guild Wars will launch!
Step 3: Create an Account
In order to play Guild Wars from May 12 through May 14 you'll need to register an account. At 12:01 AM PDT on May 12 you will be able to access the game by logging in to your account. Please note that you are required to confirm your account creation, so follow the instructions carefully.

This is the login prompt that you will use during E3 2004
to play Guild Wars. Although you can't play now, you can
create your account. In order to do so, click "Create Account"

Guild Wars currently has two servers: one in the United States
and one in Korea. United States and Other will create your
account on the United States server and Korea will create your
account on the Korean server. English and Korean are both
supported languages respectively. Click "Continue" to carry on
with the account creation process.

In order to create an account you need a valid email address.
A confirmation email is sent to your email address, so it is
important that you specify a real email address. This will
also be your username during the E3 2004 Demo. Enter in your
desired password, and reconfirm it than click "Submit".
Your password must be at least 7 characters in length
and can not have any special characters.

Your account is now created, but you'll still need to confirm
that account creation through the email address you specified
earlier. |
